Immigrant Women's Health Centre

The Immigrant Women's Health Centre (IWHC) is a community-based non-profit agency serving immigrant women, refugee women and women of colour. The Centre focuses on women who may find it hard to get good care for many reasons. They may not speak English. They may find that medical practitioners don't understand their culture, their religious beliefs or their health-care practices. They may experience racism. They may not have time between their paid jobs and caring for their families to get to the doctor.

• presentations on reproductive health, breast health and AIDS
• English as a Second Language (ESL) classes
• mobile unit visits testing is also available
• Purchasing birth control and pregnancy tests can be done on a drop-in basis.
